What does Mark Twain satirize in this excerpt from "The £1,000,000 Bank-Note"?

O A. the long list of names required to address certain nobles
OB. the English custom of holding frequent balls and dinner parties
Oc. the lack of importance given to Americans by the English
OD
the eccentric attitudes of the British upper class
Mo
Answer:
A). The long list of names required to address certain nobles.
Explanation:
In the given excerpt, Twain satirizes 'the long list of names required to address certain nobles' which is clearly reflected through the description of the people's different ranks and positions attached to their names(like Lady Anne-Grace-Eleanor-Celeste- and-so-forth-and-so-forth-de-Bohu, Countess of Newgate, etc.'). The key purpose of focusing on the names instead of the description of the ball reflects that the author aims to critique the follies/vices of the British people who laid such emphasis on the names and the positions associated at the time. Thus, option A is the correct answer.
Are people more respectful online or in person? Why? write a paragraph which means 5 sentences
Answer:
think people in-person are more respectful because your physically right in front of them which means you can see everything everything they say and do. When people are online that gives them the opportunity to say and do whatever they want without being in front of someone. People can be respectful online or in-person it just depends on their actions. Everyone has their days when it comes to being respectful. What I mean by that is people can chose whether they want to be respectful or not and sometimes that can happen online or in person.
Answer:
People are SO much more respectful in person. Online, people are trolls, roast people, and are very hateful. Unlike bullying or abuse in the schoolyard, digital abuse or cyber bullying is far too often a hidden offence. By talking to our children about respecting others online, we can help build a positive digital environment that embraces learning and discovery, while minimising negativity and inappropriate content. People are still mean in real life, but not as mean online. It is shown that victims of bullying carry those feelings of doubt and insecurity about themselves through adulthood. This will often lead to suicidal thoughts and long term depression. Children who are bullied often have low self-esteem which they with them to adulthood.

What kind of mood is created by the dialogue in the selection? Anne Frank
Answer:
Since Anne gives us an account of the daily interaction of the men and women of the annex, there is no verbatim re-telling of any dialogue, per se. What we do get, however, is a summary of how the interaction goes, the effects of what the discussion brings with it, and how it will affect the rest of the people who are also in hiding and living through it all.
In the case of the Van Daans, we know a few things from the direct and indirect characterization that Anne gives the husband and wife dyad. Of Mrs. Van Daan, Anne has absolutely nothing positive to say. In fact, Anne is so done with her that she even describes the woman the following way:
...she is very moody and has been removing more and more of her belongings and locking them up. It’s too bad Mother doesn’t repay every van Daan "disappearing act" with a Frank "disappearing act."
During one particular fight between the Van Daans, who develop slowly into very greedy individuals, we learn that they are broke and that this is a huge deal for Ms. Van Daan, especially, who has always wanted to live keeping up appearances. For this particular reason, Mr. Van Daan wanted to sell Mrs. Van D's rabbit fur coat. After finding a furrier, Mr. Van Daan received 325 guilders for it, which was a lot of money.
Mrs. Van D, who was still clueless about her reality, expected to save that money to buy a new wardrobe after the war was over. When Mr. Van Daan tried to make her see how much they needed the money for other things, the situation in the house becomes unbearable.
We know that Mrs. Van D is impertinent, stubborn, and does not shine at all in adversity. Conversely, Mr. Van Daan is a put-upon, feeble, and easy to manipulate man. Both personalities together are a recipe for disaster. In times of turmoil, their interaction becomes even more strained and more stressed. When this turmoil entails the loss of their lives and everyday freedoms, the situation worsens even more, still. Just think about losing the very things that make the fabric of what you are made of. It is the stuff that makes nightmares come true.
This is why, in more than enough occasions, the Van Daans get in fights and discussions that bring down everyone.
It took some doing before Mr. Van D. Could make her understand that it was desperately needed to cover household expenses. You can't imagine the screaming, shouting, stamping of feet and swearing that went on.
It is clear that their emotional instability is a reflection of the instability of everyone's psyche at that point. Living crammed up in an annex, with people not of your choosing, and questioning everything that you know, cannot be something that entices mental health.
Therefore, Anne shows their interaction, the reactions that they cause, and the influence of their negativity as the focal point to describe exactly how their relationship operates.

IN CLASS ACTIVITY 12/3
You will choose from the following prompts and write for the full duration of the timer (15 minutes).
OPTION 1:
Write about a time where experienced being labeled a stereotype.
Questions to get you going if you are stuck:
What did that feel like? What did you do? Why should we avoid stereotypes?
OPTION 2:
Write about a time where you overcame a conflict.
Questions to get you going if you are stuck:
What did you have to do? What was in your way? How did it feel when you overcame it?
Answer:
Stereotypical situations occur quite often - perhaps even more than we are aware of. Although there are common types of stereotypical circumstances, such as saying, "You're gay, aren't you supposed to be feminine?," or the more obvious, "You're acting like a little girl," people can face all sorts of degrading statements that may upset them, or even make them question their self worth.
One experience I have that I can provide is when I was in 6th grade. I was starting off a new year, young, bold, and excited for my future. Some of the kids were questionable, given that this old school wasn't in the nicest area. I hair was shorter than it is now - much, much shorter. People with short hairdos, specifically girls, aren't usually viewed as straight, and this stereotypical point of view was the unfolding of a nightmare of a year I was about to have.
When I walked by new people at the school, they would often run, or just move away from me. I got remarks such as "I don't want to be near the gay girl," and it got to the point where I would receive threats in my locker, like "If you approach us, we are legally allowed to kill you." You can understand why this came across as degrading to me.
It's simply not fair for people to be viewed as something just because of their gender, clothing, hairstyle, etc. Stereotypes are commonly used to address people, even if we do not realize it. We, as a whole, should become more aware of how we communicate, as it may hurt some people.

Grey Eagle had White Raven over to visit one day. Grey Eagle had many treasures in his home that he kept in small jars he hung on the wall. He had the sun, the moon, the stars, fresh water, and fire stashed in the jars. White Raven felt it was greedy of Grey Eagle to keep all these things for himself, so when Grey Eagle left the room, White Raven stole them all and flew away. He wanted to share the treasures, so first he hung the sun in the sky to light up his journey. He did the same with the moon and stars. Then, he poured the fresh water on land to help create rivers and lakes. He took fire out of its jar and looked around for a place to put it. The smoke from the fire blew in his feathers as he carried it, and slowly turned him black. That is how the Earth received its gifts and how the White Raven became black.
There is a white bird carrying a flaming stick as it flies. The smoke is blowing back at the bird and turning the white bird black.
