What are the benefits of analyzing this passage from more than one perspective? Select two options. Analyzing the passage from a historical perspective would be beneficial because the analysis would focus on times and places rather than people and emotions. Analyzing the passage from a feminist perspective would likely provide insights on how a woman like Mrs. Ochuba would be treated in the Ibo culture of that time. Analyzing the passage from a feminist perspective would likely provide insights on how Ibo women are morally superior to Ibo men. Analyzing the passage from a historical perspective would likely provide insights on how Ibo people of the time viewed native medicine. Analyzing the passage from a feminist perspective is not possible in this case because the author, Chinua Achebe, is male.
Answer:
B. Analyzing the passage from a feminist perspective would likely provide insights on how a woman like Mrs. Ochuba would be treated in the Ibo culture of that time.
D. Analyzing the passage from a historical perspective would likely provide insights on how Ibo people of the time viewed native medicine.
Explanation:
Analyzing the passage from a feminist perspective would likely provide insights on how a woman like Mrs. Ochuba would be treated in the Ibo culture of that time. Hence option b and d is correct.
What is passage?Passage is defined as a typically condensed section of a written piece or speech that contributes to the discussion or is noteworthy for its content or style. The Grammarly experts claim that most authors concur that a five-sentence paragraph is a solid general rule to go by. Five lines each paragraph provide you room to create a complete thought without making it difficult for the reader to understand what you're trying to express.
It would be advantageous to analyze the text from a historical standpoint because the analysis would put a stronger emphasis on times and locations than on persons and feelings. Feminist interpretation of the passage would probably shed light on how Mrs. Ochuba would be handled in that period's Ibo society.
Thus, analyzing the passage from a feminist perspective would likely provide insights on how a woman like Mrs. Ochuba would be treated in the Ibo culture of that time. Hence option b and d is correct.

The Journey
I was hoping to catch the early bus that humid and muggy Sunday morning. My parents had been waiting across the border to pick me up. They had told me to get there with the first bus as it got jam-packed in the terminal with each bus pouring hundreds of poor workers from abroad into my country. My country was an exceptional land –prosperous and bustling with wealthy tourists. It stood in such contrast to where I had been for the last several days. Poor, dirty, and in shambles.
My maternal relatives lived in a neighboring country. I had gone there to visit my grandparents, aunts, and uncles, whom I had always wanted to meet. I immediately recognized my grandmother from the photos my mother had shown me growing up.
Growing up, I also remembered the stories she told me every night of wonder and curiosity from her childhood. Her stories sometimes came reluctantly as if she wanted to erase those memories from her mind but felt obligated to relate those to me. Other times, the stories readily sprouted forth from her sweet mouth in her calm voice. During those moments, I tightly embraced her and looked at her in amazement. I was so proud of her for her struggles and triumphs over poverty amidst the lack of opportunities.
I had an extra joyful time with my loved ones. They wanted me to stay longer. I loved them, but I loved my comfortable life in my homeland more. Alas, it was time to say goodbye and get on the bus home. I was melancholy as I hugged and kissed my grandma, who was even more sorrowful than I was.
It was approximately a four-hour journey, but it felt much longer than that. As I rested my head against the window covered with dirty drapery and closed my eyes, I wondered why time crawled when I wasn’t in one of my most radiant moods.
In my head, though, it was another scene as thoughts hurtled through my mind one after the other trying to grab my attention first. Consequently, my mental fatigue physically made me sluggish. I was exhausted and couldn’t pick and choose which one was more worthy of my energy and time to start with. I decided to let my thoughts get the best of me.

In sentence for 40, how should "neighborhoods in one city have their own" be correctly written
A. neighborhoods in one city have its own
B. neighborhoods in one city has their own
C. neighborhoods in one city have our own
D. leave as is
'Neighborhoods in one city have their own' is a valid sentence structure. It upholds proper subject-verb agreement and appropriate pronoun usage. The recommended substitutes would result in grammatical errors. So the correct option is B.
'Neighborhoods in one city have their own' is already a valid expression. This sentence is an example of the subject-verb agreement since the plural subjects (neighborhoods) and the plural verb (have) match up correctly. The pronoun "there" also agrees with the word "neighborhoods" in the antecedent.
The consistency would be broken if we changed it to one of the other possibilities.
For instance, "neighborhoods in one city have their own" would be inconsistent between the singular "its" and the plural "neighborhoods." Similar to this, the improper usage of "has" with the plural form of "neighborhoods" is "neighborhoods in one city has their own."
The answer 'neighborhoods in one city have our own' is wrong since 'our' normally refers to the speaker and listener rather than a third party, which 'neighborhoods' would be.

Why do people join political parties?
Write a paragraph explaining your answer to this question (4-5
Sentences). Use these questions to guide your answer:
Answer: If you want to do more to influence the political process than cast a ballot every four years, you might want to consider joining a political party. Party membership can prove a rewarding experience. Not only will you be able to participate in nomination meetings and leadership campaigns, but you will also have the opportunity to shape policy, work alongside those who share your beliefs and values, and help your party succeed. Nine political parties are officially recognized in Alberta by the chief electoral officer, and their ideologies range from the far right to the far left of the political spectrum. Five parties—the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, Alberta Liberal Party, Wildrose Alliance Party, Alberta New Democratic Party and Alberta Party—are represented in the 27th legislature, and they, together with the Alberta Greens, Alberta Social Credit Party, Communist Party–Alberta and Separation Party of Alberta, fielded candidates in the 2008 general election. Doug Griffiths, Minister of Municipal Affairs, MLA for Battle River–Wainwright and a former teacher, describes party membership as superior to advocacy when it comes to effecting change. While advocates try to influence policy from the outside, party members are on the inside helping to develop the policy that guides the party and, in the case of sitting parties, its elected representatives. “You can protest and write letters and try to effect change that way, but the greatest way to effect change is to become involved in a party that you share a common theme with,” he says. “Then essentially you can work at the party level to form policies that party will have to act on, that its elected representatives will act on.” Griffiths points out that, if all of the province’s teachers purchased memberships in a single political party, they could work to improve the quality of education. “If all the teachers wrote letters to the government, it’s 32,000 teachers’ opinions versus [those of] three million other Albertans,” he says. “But if they buy memberships in a political party, it could be 32,000 teachers and 32,000 other people who hold memberships, and [teachers] could have a significant sway on party policy.” Membership prerequisites vary among parties. Some parties require proof of Canadian citizenship and/or Alberta residency, and others have minimum age restrictions. While most ask only that applicants support their principles and policies, at least one of the major parties—the Alberta New Democratic Party—requires applicants to affirm that they do not belong to any other party. And unlike members of most provincial parties, which are not formally associated with a federal party, members of the Alberta New Democratic Party automatically become members of the New Democratic Party of Canada. Membership fees for the three parties represented in the provincial legislature range from $5 in the case of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta to $20 in the case of the Alberta New Democratic Party. Some parties offer differential fees for youth, seniors and, in some cases, unemployed or underemployed members. Fees are not tax deductible unless they exceed $50 a year. Once you have made a decision to join a political party, your level of involvement is up to you. You may wish to remain a passive member, receiving the party’s newsletter and other communiqués, or you may wish to become actively involved in its affairs. Choose a level of involvement with which you feel comfortable. It may change over time.
