Answer:
Carbon is an element that is essential to all life on Earth. Carbon makes up the fats and carbohydrates of our food and is part of the molecules, like DNA and protein, that make up our bodies. Carbon, in the form of carbon dioxide, is even a part of the air we breathe. It is also stored in places like the ocean, rocks, fossil fuels, and plants.
The carbon cycle describes the flow of carbon between each of these places. For example, carbon continually flows in and out of the atmosphere and also living things. As plants photosynthesize, they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. When plants die, the carbon goes into the soil, and microbes can release the carbon back into the atmosphere through decomposition.
Forests are typically carbon sinks, places that absorb more carbon than they release. They continually take carbon out of the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis. The ocean is another example of a carbon sink, absorbing a large amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Some processes release more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than they absorb. Any process that uses fossil fuels—such as burning coal to make electricity—releases a lot of carbon into the atmosphere. Raising cattle for food also releases a lot of carbon into the atmosphere. These processes that release carbon into the atmosphere are known as carbon sources.
Ideally, the carbon cycle would keep Earth’s carbon concentrations in balance, moving the carbon from place to place and keeping atmospheric carbon dioxide levels steady. However, the carbon cycle is changing because of human activity. People are releasing more carbon into the atmosphere by using fossil fuels and maintaining large livestock operations. Deforestation is depleting Earth’s supply of carbon sinks. As a result, the amount of carbon in the atmosphere is rising.

Day 16: SC.6.L.14.2 What are the three parts of the cell theory? (PG. 131) 1. All __________ are made of _________________ or _____________________ cells. 2. The ______________ is the basic unit of all __________ things. 3. All D_____________ comes from ______________________ cells.
Answer:
1. organisms, one, more
2. cell, living
3.cells, pre-existing
Explanation:
The cell theory is an important historical scientific theory that is valid and accepted universally that has three major parts about the cell. This theory says that all organisms comprised and build of one or more cells.
This theory also states that the cell is the basic and fundamental unit of all living organisms. Virchow made a contribution to the cell theory later. The third and important part of the cell theory is that all cells are produced by the cell already exist.

What does a scientist observe in a chemical's reaction rate? the speed at which the reactants change to products over a given time. the speed at which the reactants are formed over a given time the speed at which the reactants reach chemical equilibrium over a given time , , the speed at which the reactants reach chemical equilibrium over a given time
Answer:
The speed at which the reactants change to products over a given time.
Explanation:
A chemical's reaction rate is the change in the concentration of a reactant or a product with time (in moles per second).
Remember that during a chemical reaction, reactants are converted to products. Or what is the same, products are formed at the expense of reactants. This can be represented:
reactants → products
Therefore, the progress of a reaction can be followed measuring the decrease in concentration of the reactants or the increase in concentration of the products.
According to the temperature and other parameters, the reaction rate can increase or decrease.
Which of the following can be found in a community? (click all that apply)
Rocks
Sun
plants
animals
A community is one level of organization in which populations of different species interact with each other. This level does not include abiotic factors. Options C and D can be found in a community: plants and animals.
What is a community?A community is the relationship or interaction between different species groups that live in the same habitat and at the same time.
At this level, it is interesting to study inter-specific interactions that could cause changes in the population's size. These could be the cases of competition, predation, parasitism, mutualism, etcetera.
Notice that it does not include abiotic elements. These are included at the Ecosystem level.
Plants and animals are part of a community, not sun or rocks.
Options C and D are correct. Plants and animals.
