Today, you will investigate a key inventor who changed the world in some way. As you research the author, consider the sources you are selecting. Remember, a primary source is from someone who was there and saw an event or knew the person firsthand. A secondary source is someone who also conducted research from a variety of sources, and created the text. Each type of resource has a benefit. The primary source experienced something firsthand or knew a person, however this source may not be impartial. The information may be valuable, but as a researcher, you will want to dig deeper to find out if the primary source has bias. You can do this by investigating other primary or secondary sources to see if they agree.

As you research, take detailed notes, and be sure to keep track which source provided which piece of information. You will need to cite your sources and provide a list of works cited at the end of your paper. Move through the writing process in order. You will have more than one draft to perfect your writing. No writer creates perfection the first time. The first draft will have the key ideas in place. The final revision will have made changes to key ideas. Ensure that the evidence you discovered supports the thesis of your paper. Once the key ideas and citations are in place, review the paper to ensure that sentences are exciting and the grammar is correct.

When crafting the conclusion, consider how the world changed. Review the information you used and cited in the paper. What do you see or know about today's world that was influenced by this invention? Reflect on all of the information to create a thoughtful conclusion that pulls all of the information together.

Directions: Choose an inventor from the list below. Conduct research of primary and secondary sources to learn more about each author. Write a five hundred word report about the inventor, and include information discussing how the invention changed the world.

Robert Fulton

Answer 1

Answer:

Alexander Graham Bell is a Scottish scientist and inventor. Many most of heard of his most famous invention is the famous telephone. A communication device that we now practically can't live without. Instead of commutating in-person, to whether talk to family, business, etc. you can now do over a telephone. It can save a lot of time and energy.

In Alexander's early years, both is brothers had died from tuberculosis. His mother was deaf and his father taught elocution to the deaf. He had also later married a deaf woman named, Mabel Gardiner Hubbard. Mabel could only use manual British sign language to communicate, since she wasn't capable of knowing how to read nor speak. Having to know the difficulties of deaf people, Alexander has became passionate about hearing and the science behide it. His passion grew and eventually led Alexander further with experiments with sound. Which "eventually let him to want to send voice signals down a telegraph wire." claimed an article written by Ducksters. Also from a very young age, Alexander had been known as a young inventor. For example, "When he was eleven, Bell invented a machine that could clean wheat. He later said that if he had understood electricity at all, he would have been too discouraged to invent the telephone. Everyone else "knew" it was impossible to send voice signals over a wire." (PBS)

At the time, a device called a telegraph transmitter was commonly used to communicate. But that was a very troublesome because, "The signals consist of current pulses, combined in such a way as to transmit characters in accordance with a telegraph code." (The Free Dictionary By Farlex).

Alexander had wanted to experiment "harmonic telegraph — a device that allowed multiple messages to be transmitted over a wire at the same time." (History.com) On his path of inventing the telephone, Alexander had failed many times before and after the invention of the telephone. But finally on March 7, 1876 his invention had been official registered. But it wasn't until 3 days later, Alexander had made the first ever telephone call, "Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you." It wasn't until then, the telephone was considered a successful invention.

"The inventor faced a nearly 20-year legal battle with other scientists, including Gray and Meucci, who claimed they created telephone prototypes prior to Bell’s patent."..."but after a series of rulings, the Bell company won in a Supreme Court decision. While the Bell Company faced over 550 court challenges, in the end, none were successful." had said in a article written by History.com.

The impact of the telephone was super successful and had a great positive impact on the society and people. Wealthy people and companies used the telephone as a primary communication tool. Soon after the telephone invention began to spread, people from all over globe started to communicated and became more virtually connected.

After having more than "more than 18 patents for his inventions and work in communications" (History.com) and medical tool as well. But finally this talented Scottish scientist and inventor had finally died under the diabetes, on  August 2, 1922. On Alexander Graham Bell's funeral, every single telephone in the whole North America had been silenced, to pay their tribute.

Write an essay that analyzes how a text explains the sequence of events that affected the discovery of the Rosetta stone. PLEASE make a NEW ONE, I submitted one from another person asking this and apparently it was taken from a website so someone please make a brand new one!

Answers

The Rosetta stone is the code that revealed the mystery of Egyptian hieroglyphics allowing to the archeologist and to the scholars to read and interpreting inscriptions and reliefs like texts and tombs in a modern understanding. Thomas Young has shown first, then the French scholar Jean-François Champollion that provide the foundations of many information on the ancient Egyptian culture. Finally in 1799, soldiers of Napoleon’s army found the Rosetta stone near the town of el-Rashid (Rosetta). Later, the stone became British property after  the Treaty of Alexandria (1801) and  has been presented in the British Museum since 1802. Further more. The Rosetta Stone is a granodiorite stone inscription discovered in 1799. This inscription has three versions of an edict issued in Memphis, Egypt in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty in the name of King Ptolemaios V. The proclamation text at the top and middle of the inscription was written in Ancient Egyptian with hieroglyphic and demotic characters, while the lower part is written in Ancient Greek. Because the differences in the three versions of this edict were not many, the Rosetta Stone was the key to the translation of Egyptian hieroglyphics, which in turn broadened insights into ancient Egyptian history.

how the 9/11 tragedy affected the constitutional rights of US citizens

Answers

Answer:

Citizens were much more enclosed as to what they could do and many of their rights were either changed to be must more inclusive, or were taken away which took away freedom.

Explanation:

After the 9/11 tragedy, citizen rights were very suppressed. Many citizens did not have their rights and similar to the quartering acts that were put on them by Great Britain, citizens were commonly checked in their house for belongings that were suspicious by soldiers and were not allowed to say no, because then it would be suspicious. Many other rights were taken away and many people were only allowed to be in their homes, and were not allowed to go anywhere else. In conclusion citizens had to stay in their homes because they felt unsafe going out, and even in their homes were still intruded to make sure everyone was "safe".
