Please Can Someone Make A Paragraph Talking About That

Answer 1

Answer: The most basic right of a citizen in a democracy is the right to vote. Without this right, people can be easily ignored and even abused by their government. This, in fact, is what happened to African American citizens living in the South following Civil War Reconstruction. Despite the 14th and 15th amendments guaranteeing the civil rights of black Americans, their right to vote was systematically taken away by white supremacist state governments. After the Civil War, Congress acted to prevent Southerners from re-establishing white supremacy. In 1867, the Radical Republicans in Congress imposed federal military rule over most of the South. Under U.S. Army occupation, the former Confederate states wrote new constitutions and were readmitted to the Union, but only after ratifying the 14th Amendment. This Reconstruction amendment prohibited states from denying "the equal protection of the laws" to U.S. citizens, which included the former slaves.

In 1870, the 15th Amendment was ratified. It stated that, "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."

More than a half-million black men became voters in the South during the 1870s (women did not secure the right to vote in the United States until 1920). For the most part, these new black voters cast their ballots solidly for the Republican Party, the party of the Great Emancipator, Abraham Lincoln.

When Mississippi rejoined the Union in 1870, former slaves made up more than half of that state's population. During the next decade, Mississippi sent two black U.S. senators to Washington and elected a number of black state officials, including a lieutenant governor. But even though the new black citizens voted freely and in large numbers, whites were still elected to a large majority of state and local offices. This was the pattern in most of the Southern states during Reconstruction.

The Republican-controlled state governments in the South were hardly perfect. Many citizens complained about overtaxation and outright corruption. But these governments brought about significant improvements in the lives of the former slaves. For the first time, black men and women enjoyed freedom of speech and movement, the right of a fair trial, education for their children, and all the other privileges and protections of American citizenship. But all this changed when Reconstruction ended in 1877 and federal troops withdrew from the old Confederacy.

Answers

Hello. You did not show the text to which this question refers, however, when it comes to the story of Ida B. Wells and her positions regarding racial segregation and racism faced by blacks, we can say that she supported the Du Bois' ideas. This was because she defended the rights of blacks to assume leadership positions in society and to seek academic growth, so that they would be able to promote transformations in society favorable to blacks. This idea was also supported by Du Bois, but not by Washington.

What was two things to United States did to get out of the war in 1812

Answers

Answer: The Treaty of Peace and Amity between His Britannic Majesty and the United States of America is signed by British and American representatives at Ghent, Belgium, ending the War of 1812. By terms of the treaty, all conquered territory was to be returned, and commissions were planned to settle the boundary of the United States and Canada.

In June 1812, the United States declared war against Great Britain in reaction to three issues: the British economic blockade of France, the induction of thousands of neutral American seamen into the British Royal Navy against their will, and the British support of hostile Indian tribes along the Great Lakes frontier. A faction of Congress, made up mostly of western and southern congressmen, had been advocating the declaration of war for several years. These “War Hawks,” as they were known, hoped that war with Britain, which was preoccupied with its struggle against Napoleonic France, would result in U.S. territorial gains in Canada and British-protected Florida.

In the months following the U.S. declaration of war, American forces launched a three-point invasion of Canada, all of which were repulsed. At sea, however, the United States was more successful, and the USS Constitution and other American frigates won a series of victories over British warships. In 1813, American forces won several key victories in the Great Lakes region, but Britain regained control of the sea and blockaded the eastern seaboard.

In 1814, with the downfall of Napoleon, the British were able to allocate more military resources to the American war, and Washington, D.C., fell to the British in August. In Washington, British troops burned the White House, the Capitol, and other buildings in retaliation for the earlier burning of government buildings in Canada by U.S. soldiers. The British soon retreated, however, and Fort McHenry in Baltimore harbor withstood a massive British bombardment and inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

On September 11, 1814, the tide of the war turned when Thomas Macdonough’s American naval force won a decisive victory at the Battle of Plattsburg Bay on Lake Champlain. A large British army under Sir George Prevost was thus forced to abandon its invasion of the U.S. northeast and retreat to Canada. The American victory on Lake Champlain led to the conclusion of U.S.-British peace negotiations in Belgium, and on December 24, 1814, the Treaty of Ghent was signed, ending the war. Although the treaty said nothing about two of the key issues that started the war–the rights of neutral U.S. vessels and the impressment of U.S. sailors–it did open up the Great Lakes region to American expansion and was hailed as a diplomatic victory in the United States.

News of the treaty took almost two months to cross the Atlantic, and British forces were not informed of the end of hostilities in time to end their drive against the mouth of the Mississippi River. On January 8, 1815, a large British army attacked New Orleans and was decimated by an inferior American force under General Andrew Jackson in the most spectacular U.S. victory of the war. The American public heard of the Battle of New Orleans and the Treaty of Ghent at approximately the same time, fostering a greater sentiment of self-confidence and shared identity throughout the young republic.

How did Nicholas address social unrest?

Answers

Answer: Nicholas II did not care about the unrest.

Explanation:

The Russian Revolution is the result of decades of bad rule by Russian autocratic kings. Decades of bad politics have brought the great country to the brink of social and societal ruin. Russia lags far behind other European countries in economic terms. In such conditions, dissatisfaction was growing among the people. The Russian tsar did not care much for the bad position of his people. He was only interested in his social status. For years, the people went on strike and tried to change their poor social status. Since these actions did not bear fruit, a revolution broke out in 1917, after which the tsar lost his position, and the Bolsheviks came to power with their socialist ideas.

3. Imagine that the
Patriots had lost the Revolutionary War. Write 5-8 sentences on how your lives would

Answers

Answer:

1.) The Boston Massacre was a confrontation on March 5, 1770, in which British soldiers shot and killed several people while being harassed by a mob in Boston. The event was heavily publicized by leading Patriots such as Paul Revere and Samuel Adams.

2.) The phrase comes from the opening stanza of Ralph Waldo Emerson's "Concord Hymn" (1837) and refers to the first shot of the American Revolution at the Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts, where the first British soldiers fell in the battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775.

3.) If the patriots had lost the Revolutionary war, the Americans would still be under British control and have to deal with the treatment they dealt with before such as paying taxes from over seas and having to house soldiers in their homes. You could also say that if they lost the war, they would probably be horribly punished for their actions in trying to separate from Great Britain. I don't know if treason is the correct word, but they could maybe see it as that.

the correct answer is B

The Alien and Sedition Acts affect the election of 1800 John Adams lost support because the acts were unpopular. The correct option is B.

The Sedition and Alien Acts had an impact on the 1800 election because they helped Thomas Jefferson defeat the incumbent, John Adams.

What were the political parties in the election of 1800 and who were the candidates?

The first two parties in the country were starting to take shape by the 1800 election. John Adams, a Federalist, and Thomas Jefferson, a Democrat-Republican, were engaged in a bitterly contested presidential race.

The Federalists made it possible for those accused of breaking the sedition laws to utilize the truth as a defense under the Sedition Act. Democratic-Republicans condemned the actions, which ultimately helped them win the 1800 election when Thomas Jefferson defeated President Adams, who had been in office.

Thus, the ideal selection is option B.
